Open Your Eyes

Always pray to have open eyes…
“And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire around about Elisha.”
The King of Syria was concerned that the King of Israel seemed to know his military secrets. He thought there might be a leak in his army. But his servants told him that this wasn’t the case; that it was Elisha the prophet that kept Israel’s king informed. Syria’s King then sent horses, and chariots, and a great host to get Elisha. (v. 14) They surrounded the city and the next morning, when Elisha’s servant realized this, he was naturally concerned. But Elisha prayed that God would open his eyes so that he could see the supernatural army Elisha knew was there.
We often forget that we aren’t fighting alone. It’s easy to get discouraged. But remember there are things beyond our comprehension, beyond our natural sight going on all the time. I often think of the delay in Daniel’s prayer because of the spiritual warfare going on. Don’t give the other side ammunition with doubts and despair. Have faith! Have confidence! Have joy! Your Father has heard your prayers. He knows your needs. There are things going on even now for your good that you haven’t even dreamed of.
Keep your eyes open in all things. We can miss things going on around us good and bad if we aren’t careful. Often, we see people blinded by Satan’s lies…. alcohol is harmless, fudging a little in taxes/business is no big deal, the flirtation with your co-worker is just being friendly. The devil is the father of lies and if he came us at us with the truth, no one would follow him. We have lost loved ones who are being deceived, but if we aren’t careful, we can also be deceived.
Always pray to have open eyes.
