2 Timothy 3
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
False teachers have been around since Bible times. They have a “form” of Godliness or otherwise you wouldn’t be fooled. They look like the part on the outside, but there is nothing on the inside. Will these false teachers become more prevalent in the last days?
This scripture says that in the last days men will become:
Lovers of their own selves…. People become more and more self-focused every day. In the artificial world we live in, it’s as if we have lost connection with humanity.
Disobedient to parents… I probably don’t even need to speak on this. We see this every day as well.
Lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God… Everyday, Christians are making decisions that put their own desires ahead of God. I especially see this in marriage. Honor your vows!
There is so much more in these verses, but these are the things that really caught my eye. Wake up. Jesus is coming.
