We are too busy “telling people” to hear. People will tell you about a sermon they’ve heard or quote a Bible verse in that preachy “people ought to know better, they gonna be sorry attitude/voice.” I’ve even done it myself. Instead, we need to look inwards at our own hearts.
When you are listening to a sermon, and you start thinking about the people you know who need to hear that sermon, the enemy is distracting you. Because YOU need to HEAR the sermon.
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
I think our
biggest problem is pride. What would happen if we got rid of that pride and came before God with a humble heart? What if we were really thankful for all He has done for us? Our hearts would change, our lives would change, our world would change.
