Salt of the Earth
Matthew 5:13
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Have you ever thought about how serious this verse is? If you, Christian, have lost your savor , you have basically lost your worth. If you have lost your witness, if you are not pointing others to Christ, you are good for nothing. Wow. That’s pretty serious.
What do you think is the biggest hindrance to the advancement of God’s kingdom? The lost man living like as he wants, or the Christian living life as he wants? There are only two masters. If you are not serving God, who are you serving? No matter how saved you claim to be, if you are hindering God’s work by not being the witness you need to be, you are not serving God. You are hurting the cause. You are pointing people to hell not heaven. That’s why this verse is so serious because the Christian who is no longer the salt of the earth is in a dangerous place for himself and others. Prodigal, come home today!
