The Inspired Word of God

2 Timothy 3: 16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

The Bible is the unerring Word of God. We are to live by every single Word. The Word of God is so

important that the enemy tries to both pervert and distract us from it.

How does he pervert it? Through different Bible versions. I know some are okay with different versions of the Bible, and I won’t argue with that. But I will suggest you stick with the King James as your main source of studying the Word. I realize the KJV isn’t the original version, but it is the earliest version we have available. Could God be in some of the newer translations? Yes, but check key verses against your King James. Stay away from the NIV, it leaves out many very important verses. My personal suggestion is just stick with your KJV.

Be careful with reading devotions, even mine, and commentaries. Its another good way the enemy can pervert the Word. Even someone who isn’t intentionally leading you wrong can still do that unintentionally. Man, even a saved man, is flawed and more than capable of putting more of his own opinion than God’s in his writing.

Lastly, many people don’t make reading their Bible a priority. They are content to rely on their pastors to tell them what the Word says. We have to prayerfully read the Bible ourselves. This is very important to the walk of a believer. Wonder why so many newer converts are okay with things we know the Bible stands against? Because they aren’t reading the book for themselves or they’re reading the wrong book.
